Volunteer
Become a valued member of GB Ultras & join the Event Team supporting runners during the race!
Experience the event from the other side and make a difference. We’re looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to help with the various aspects of the event before, during and after each of our races.
Event Team roles are designated prior to the event with different roles available to suit the individual based on their experience.
Roles include event set-up and clear-down, race registration, traffic marshals, checkpoint team members, first aid and medical team, mountain team positions (if applicable), finish line team members and, at some events, sweeping the race.
Event costs can be waived for the same event in the following year providing criteria of a minimum 8 hours volunteering (50 Mile) or minimum of 14 hours volunteering (100 Mile) is met. An Event Team tech tee shirt will also be provided.
Its an amazing feeling to support runners as all of the runners are exceptionally grateful & you become a fundamental part of their race experience.
To apply to join the team for one (or more!) of our events at GB Ultras please complete and submit your details below.

GB ultras are the best.

I started as a volunteer when my husband Jim first ran M2L,.
instead of following him over the course I got to be at a middle checkpoint and then be at the finish line.
I made so many friends on that first time that it was an easy decision to volunteer at more events.
Now I attend most of the events including the recce runs.
When I thought about running everyone is so supportive, it really does become a community.
I also get to see some amazing places when volunteering.

I first volunteered for GB Ultras at RAS 2022 to give support having completed Scotland 50 in June 2022. I discovered how amazingly supportive the volunteer community are, and volunteering escalated in 2023 after a long Covid diagnosis. I can usually be found at registration and then at a variety of CPs. The GB Ultras Event team which includes RDs, the volunteers, the media crew and medical team reach out to give everyone an amazing time. FOMO does not exist because if you are not there you are definitely missing out.
