GB Ultras Training Runs
All participants are invited to join the GB Ultras team on training runs in 2026 covering key sections of some of the GB Ultras events prior to race day.
Please note that after the 2026 season, no official organised training runs will be held going forward.
You can attend as many as you like, one day or both days of any given training weekend with the aim of learning the route and increasing confidence come Race day. You’ll also have the chance to meet other runners taking on the Race.
Training runs are priced at £22.99 for 1 day or £39.99 for both days for attendance. Included is –
- Guided recce run
- Mandatory kit advice
- Meet the team
- Gain trail experience and knowledge
No accommodation or transport to/from the training run from your home address is included.
Pace/Water/Provisions/Kit
Generally our training runs have high attendance and for safety reasons we’ll be imposing a limit depending on the numbers of attendees. Once the limit is reached for a training run, registration will be closed and no further additions will be possible,
Please take into account weather conditions closer to the time. We recommend runners refer to the Mandatory kit section and carry sufficient food/water for the duration of each of the runs.
Pace wise, we’ll be trying to ensure everyone is staying together as much as possible and will be stopping at set sections so all benefit from the recce of the section.
Please be aware that the training run is a chance to learn the route and the purpose is to try to keep together as a group/in set groups. To help manage this, we may well have a number of run leaders but please bear in mind the purpose is not to run off at your own race pace, and the purpose is not who wins the recce!
Please take into account weather conditions closer to the time. We recommend runners refer to the Mandatory kit section (please note this is the minimum kit but you should prepare to consider carrying more should there be a poor weather forecast pre-recce) and carry sufficient food/water for the duration of each of the runs. Low level routes may be actioned by the team should severe weather be forecast.
Car Transport:
GB Ultras will put a plan in place for runners to be transported back to the start point at the end of each days training run (where the start/finish points are at different locations).
We will organise for a number of people who are attending to meet at the finish location on the morning of each run, their cars will then be used to drive people back to the start location once we have finished the run.
When completing your registration, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate if you are travelling to the training run by car and inform us how many spare seats you have available. If you don’t need transporting back to the start at the end of each day, you’ll also have the opportunity to confirm this during registration.
During the week prior to the training run, we’ll then inform all attendees where they will be meeting on each day they’re attending and where their cars will be positioned st the start of each day.
Ready to secure your place on a training run?
Head to the respective GB Ultras Training Run below where you’ll find further details and the sign up link.
Registrations for each training run will close 1 week prior to the training date to enable the team to finalise preparations. After registrations have closed, no further additions or amendments can be made.
