When and how to apply to the GB Ultras ambassador scheme?  

The Application Phase will start on Sunday 28th January 2023 and ends on Sunday 12th February 2023.

Once the application stage is open you will be able to access our application link on www.GBUltras.com.

What will make my application stand out from the rest? What specifically are you looking for?

GB Ultras team members are Ambassadors of ultrarunning and the GB Ultras Community. They share their passion for ultrarunning to inspire others. They simply love what they are doing: spending most of their free time being active helping others and supporting those within the community on social media. Does that sound familiar to you? Well, then you should consider joining our team!

Who makes the decision?

The panel selection process is headed by GB Ultras Ambassador Joe Jones.  Also on the decision panel will be the GB Ultras Race Director's Wayne Drinkwater, Laura Hutchinson and Ian Yates.  Existing Ambassadors will also be involved in some of the selection discussions, though we understand everyone is so busy in their own right that we ideally feel it might be best to minimise this due to the sheer number of applications expected.  Due to the number of applications please do not approach the panel directly to help ensure fairness across the applications.

Do I have to complete a GB Ultras event to apply?

Completing one of our events gives you a sense of the core values GB Ultras represent. Completing one of our events will help with your application but isn’t essential.

Can I apply if I wasn't successful last year?

Of course, even if you were not successful last year, we would still love to hear from you.

Is there an age limit?

There is no upper age limit for being a GB Ultras Ambassador. Age is just a number. If you want to join the team, you must be at least 21 years old.

How long are you in the GB Ultras Ambassador role?

Our goal is to motivate you to remain part of the team for the long term. Indeed, we're happy to say that many of our members have been part of the GB Ultras team for many years. In case of no participation in any races or events (except in case of injury), or a change to circumstances, we unfortunately sometimes need to suspend memberships. All Ambassadors will be reviewed every 12 months.

How often do I need to run to become a GB Ultras Ambassador? Can beginners be selected as well?

Your enjoyment is more important than the volume of running you do. We welcome ultra-runners from beginners to more experienced athletes. What is most important is your passion for ultra-running and the desire to inspire and motivate others.

Do I have to be able to run a certain pace?

Your pace of running is not important; it is your passion and your interaction with others that is key.

What happens if I get injured?

In case of any injury, you can count on the support of the GB Ultras Lead Ambassadors and the management team.

What is expected from the GB Ultras member on social media?

We hope that you want to use social media to inspire others and share your adventures as a GB Ultras Ambassador. We share photos, videos, blogs and kit reviews via our Instagram and Facebook pages. We want to encourage you to passionately contribute to these online platforms and proudly share your GB Ultras adventures on your own social media channels.
